Day 1 - Sydney – Flinders Island
After departing Sydney we fly along the south coast of New South
Wales across Bass Strait to Flinders Island. Upon arrival we
are met by Jimmy who will be our guide for our stay. Flinders
Island is steeped in both history and natural wonder. It was
here in the mid 1800’s that the last of the Tasmanian
Aboriginals were resettled. For nature lovers the island is
akin to a mini
England- to the north the country is rolling grasslands like
Sussex; to the west it takes on the appearance of the Norfolk
Downs; whilst to the south it resembles the Scottish highlands
and west country. ( Interstate Hotel) (LD)
Day 2 - Flinders Island - Strahan
From Flinders Island we head southwest over the highlands of Tasmania and
into Strahan. Here we transfer to a 60ft ketch for a cruise on Macquarie
Harbour. Upon returning to the dockside, we journey inland climbing the
steep slopes of the surrounding hills to Queenstown. Chancellor Inn (BLD)

Day 3 - Strahan – King Island
The flight this morning is spectacular as we fly abeam the rugged
cliff faces of Tasmania’s wet coast to our destination
King Island. Upon our arrival we are met by our guide who will
take
us on a tour of the main town centre of Currie, and then on
to the kelp harvesting. Whilst on the island you have the opportunity
to experience all the delights of King Island cheese and meat
products. Boomerang Motel (BLD)
Day 4 - King Island – Geelong – Warrnambool (via Great Ocean Road)
After a short flight across Bass Strait, we land at Geelong where we change our mode of
transport so that we can experience the beauty of the Great Ocean Road. Our journey
takes us through Torquay, Anglesea, Lorne and on to Apollo Bay for lunch. After lunch,
we head for the Twelve Apostles which jut out of the sea near the limestone cliffs to
which they once belonged. Lookouts have been strategically placed along the coast,
which is the graveyard for many ships. The most famous of these was the Loch Ard, a
huge iron clipper which hit a reef in 1878 carrying 54 passengers from England. Gateway Motor Inn (BLD).

Day 5 - Warrnambool - Mt Gambier – Kangaroo
Island
This morning we re join our aircraft for the short flight along
the coast Mt Gambier with its beautiful Blue Lake. After a tour
of the town, with lunch in the famous sunken gardens we board
the aircraft and fly to Kangaroo Island Ozone Hotel (BLD)

Day 6 - Kangaroo Island (by road)
This morning we commence with a visit to Seal Bay to view the seal colony
basking on the beach. Lunchtime sees us in the Flinders Chase National Park.
After lunch, we continue our sightseeing with the magnificent Admiralty
Arch and Remarkable Rocks. The Remarkable Rocks formation is unique as it
has all the appearance of being a sculpture that would not be out of place
in a modern art museum. Ozone Hotel

Day 7 - Kangaroo Is - MiIdura - Sydney
We bid farewell to Kangaroo Island and head across Backstairs Passage
and the Adelaide Hills for our luncheon stop at Mildura. Here
we enjoy a short tour of the town. We re-board the aircraft in
the early afternoon for the flight across the Hay Plains returning
to Sydney around 5.30pm.
