Day 1: Sydney . Broken Hill . Birdsville
The tour commences with an early morning flight from Sydney westwards
to Broken Hill. Upon arrival you are taken on a tour of the
township with a visit to Pro Harts Gallery and the Royal Flying
Doctor base before heading out to Silverton on the edge of
the Mundi Mundi Plains. It is in Silverton that many Australian
movies, such as Mad Max, have been filmed. On the return journey
to Broken Hill time is taken to visit the world famous “Sculptures
in the Desert”. Upon re boarding the aircraft you fly
northwest, crossing country that Burke and wills traversed
in the 1880’s; finally arriving in Birdsville. Overnight
is at the famous “Birdsville Hotel”. Birdsville

Day 2: Birdsville . Yulara . Alice Springs
Prior to departure you visit the Birdsville Working Museum, where
on display are many exhibits typical of outback life. Your
flight now heads westward crossing the lower part of the Simpson
Desert – your destination Yulara. After disembarkation
you are taken on a journey around Uluru (Ayers Rock) before
heading across to the Olgas. Later afternoon you re board the
aircraft for the short flight into Alice Springs. Alice Springs

Day 3: Alice Springs
You day begins with a tour of the township before heading out along
the McDonnell Ranges to Simpson’s Gap, returning in the

Day 4: Alice Springs . Kakadu . Darwin
Early morning departure for your flight northwards to Jabiru, the
entry point of Kakadu National Park. Upon arrival you change
transportation and join the Yellow Waters Cruise. Your journey
across the floodplains of the South Alligator River is highlighted
by the abundance of wetlands birdlife and crocodiles that make
the Northern territory so famous. At the conclusion of the cruise
you continue to tour Kakadu with a visit to Ubirr and Nourlangie
Rock with its unique rock art. The day concludes with a flight

Day 5: Darwin
Ffree day to relax or explore the town. Mirrambeena Resort (BD)
Day 6: Darwin . Litchfield . Darwin
Today you travel south, by road, to Adelaide River where the American
and Australian Military relocated after the bombing of Darwin.
A potent reminder of the times is the Adelaide River Cemetery.
Next we head into Litchfield National Park. Of particular interest
are the magnetic termite mounds, Florence, Tolmer and Wangi Falls.
We return to Darwin the late afternoon.

An early morning departure from Darwin homeward bound on your Virgin
